I'm currently searching for an experienced Java Staff Engineer to join a high-impact project in Amsterdam. This freelance role offers a hybrid working setup and the chance to shape large-scale, innovative solutions in a global environment.
What you'll bring:
? 7+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development & software architecture
? Proven ability to design scalable, resilient, distributed systems
? Expertise with microservices, APIs, Kafka/event-driven architectures
? Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL/NoSQL databases
? Strong skills in cloud (ideally GCP), DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines
? Excellent leadership qualities - able to mentor engineers & guide technical direction
The role:
Take ownership of system design & architecture for critical software components
Lead and mentor development teams, ensuring best practices & high-quality delivery
Collaborate across teams to build scalable, resilient systems at global scale
