This improvement project provided Kenya Airways with a network-wide strategy with which a $700,000 cost-saving potential can be achieved. • Leading air operations in the Les Cayes office, achieved the delivery of 681 tonnes of humanitarian supplies and transportation of 3,516 humanitarian workers to 70 remote mountainous locations in response to Hurricane Matthew. • Safely managed 2,025 flights (871 flight hours) over four months successfully implementing the United Nations safety management system for air operations. • As base manager managed two cargo helicopters and 14 staff members (four flight crew members, three aviation mechanics, and two admin and 5 ground staff). • Advised WFP country management to reprogram the budget of the air operation and secured additional donor funding, resulting in the conduction of twice as many flight hours as initially estimated.
